Preparing your first wheel…
FROM SCREEN TO TABLE

One wheel.
A small discovery.

1

Make a turning wheel

Print at 100% on card. An adult cuts out the outer circle and the black openings, keeping the small white bridges intact.

2

Keep the center fixed

Put the wheel on top of ordinary drawing paper. Mark the center and upward guide line. Fix the center so only the wheel turns.

3

Follow the little numbers

Turn rim number 1 to the guide. Draw through opening group 1, then repeat for 2, 3… Remove the wheel and join the small bridge gaps if you want.

How the wheel works, and what to test on paper

Each fragment is rotated around the same center by the opposite of its numbered rim angle. Turning that number to the top puts the fragment back at its exact original position. The drawing sits above the center pin, giving its fragments more room to spread around the wheel. The rim numbers run clockwise in order, with gaps chosen to keep the fragments apart. Rotation preserves each fragment’s distance from the pin.

The stencil presets simplify the small details and widen fine marks into cut-through openings. White bridges connect enclosed areas to the rest of the wheel so they do not fall out. The bridges leave intentional gaps in the drawing. Black is the material to remove; numbers and the center mark are printed guides. Prepared examples have closed cutting contours; uploaded images remain reference previews until stencil preparation is supported. Material strength and the chosen cutting method still need a physical test.
